Have you ever watched those shows on tv about people who “extreme coupon” and walk out of the grocery store with what is essentially 100 bottles of soda and only paid $1.00 or something ridiculous? And then they would feature their “stash” that completely fills their garage or basement and essentially look like their own grocery store? Yeah, I did, too, and after a couple episodes I told myself, “I can do that.”

And so I started down my own path of couponing. I did the research online and learned all about it and fell in love with the thrill of saving money. After a while though I started to feel overwhelmed like I had to devote so much of my time to it that I wondered if it was really worth it. Over some time, however, I came to the conclusion that I didn’t need to make couponing a full time job to make it successful. So I set about figuring out ways to shave off more and more┬átime each week and eventually got myself down to only spending about 2 hours a week on my “habit.” And I’m here to tell you that you can do it, too.

I will also tell you that it can be a very personal experience. That may sound cheesy, but over time each person will learn their own preferences and techniques and come to incorporate those into their own strategy. There is definitely more than one way to coupon. The idea is learn what works best for you. But for now, I will share with you my own strategy to fast couponing in 2 hours a week.
